Poco F2 might disappoint you!

If we were to trust leaks and rumors, Poco F2 is set to launch soon but it might disappoint you. Also it might be called Poco X2 and it could have other variants like Poco F2 Lite.

Xiaomi is expected to launch the follow-up to its Poco F1 budget flagship later this year, but not a lot was known about its tech specs until now. Thankfully though, a new listing on Geekbench has now seemingly given us a few hints about what to expect from the second-generation Poco smartphone. Listed on Geekbench as the Poco X2, the next-gen Poco handset will run Android 10, sport 8GB of RAM and will be powered by an unidentified 1.80GHz octa-core Qualcomm processor codenamed “phoenixin”.

Sadly, though, the chipset is unlikely to be the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 865, as the device notched-up only 547 points in the single-core test and 1,767 points in the multi-core benchmark. Speculations suggest that it might actually be a re-branded version of the Redmi K30, which was launched last month with the Snapdragon 730G (4G) or the Snapdragon 765G (5G) under the hood. While both these chipsets are capable in their own right, they’re still a long way off from the flagship performance of the SD865, which might disappoint potential Poco F2 buyers.

Xiaomi Poco X2 Spotted on Geekbench with Android 10, 8GB RAM

Meanwhile, it isn’t immediately clear if Xiaomi will eventually market the device as the Poco X2 (as listed on Geekbench), or if it will retain the Poco F2/ Pocophone F2 branding in keeping with the naming convention of the first-gen model. However, the company has already applied for a trademark on the ‘Poco F2’ name, which might offer a hint about the company’s plans with the upcoming device. Either way, the successor to the much-loved Poco F1 is coming soon, which is great news whichever way you look at it.
In case you don’t know it already, the GM of Xiaomi Indonesia and the head of Pocophone global, Alvin Tse, recently confirmed that the company plans to revive the Poco brand in 2020, although, he didn’t given any details on the matter. Having said that, given that the leaks have started coming thick and fast, we should expect more concrete info in the weeks ahead.

RealMe 2 : PREQUEL of RealMe 1

Sequel 'Prequel' of RealMe1 : RealMe 2

Lets go with Q & A format this time, lets get started.

Question

Is it worth the hype?

Answer Part - 1

RealMe Launch Event is live right now which you can watch here.
If you are interested in buying you can get it here
There is lot of things going on right now on twitter page of Realme (@realmemobile)
Also they will be something else besides RealMe 2 as per their tweets.

Answer Part - 2

So, now back to original question, is it worth it?
In one word NO. And here is why,

It has Snapdragon 450 SoC while it is not bad, its not worth Rs. 8,990/- (which is base price for RealMe 2)

RealMe 1 was the true king of the budget. Helio P60 is more powerful then Snapdragon 636 and that is something. Most of the SD 636 SoC starts at 15k atleast, while Helio P60 Starts at 20k (apart from RealMe1 obviously).

So if you still want to buy a great phone around 10,000/- RealMe 1 is still the best but if you are planning to buy RealMe 2 I would advise otherwise.

It still have ColorOS and its a big no no. I mean on 6 GB Variant of RealMe 1 only 3.8 GB RAM is available in idle, i.e. it consumes 2.2 GB RAM meaning that 3 GB RAM variant is practically useless.

Apart from Question

It is not that it is all bad for RealMe 2.
It has triple slots (2 SIM + Micro SD) and Duel 4G VoLTE Standby + 5 GHz WiFi (That is something every brand do, even in budget segment).
It features Dual Camera this time and even single sensor gave tough fight  to Redmi Note 5 Pro.
It has 4230 mAh Battery.
It has a Notch - it is trend for a reason (reason being Apple like removing removing 3.5mm jack, seriously why do you exist Apple).
It now have finger print sensor (Finally!)

So I'll leave final choice to you guys but my opinion is that RealMe 2 is not worth it.

You also have plenty of other options as well like Redmi Y2 at this price point. I'll add detailed list of alternatives at a later date. Detailed Specs List(GSM Arena) can be found here.

Edit - 1

2nd surprise is supposed to be 2 winners of RealMe 2. So that was a bit let down for "2nd Surprise." Also list I talked about earlier is a work-in-progress and it will take some time so please be patient.

Edit - 2

As promised i'm here with alternatives for RealMe 2.

  Option - I

RealMe 1

This is obvious choice it has exact same camera (2nd camera on RealMe 2 is just decoration believe me) and it offers double the performance at same price and even has option for 6 GB RAM variant (my review is here)

Only trade off as well as sacrifice is finger print sensor (and a notch to lose if you are a notch fan).

RealMe 1 is way better then RealMe 2.

  Option - II

Redmi Y2

If you want a good phone that is NOT OPPO then Redmi Y2 should be your obvious choice. It has SD 625, 18:9 Display, Good battery life, More trusted brand (i.e. more then RealMe), way batter selfie camera (16MP with Flash), REAL(and also Rear, but really meant REAL) Dual camera, the only loss is slight lower battery capacity (slight because of batter battery management on MIUI) and just a notch.

Verdict

If you are a selfie lover or you don't like OPPO or you fingerprint sensor is must then go for Redmi Y2. It has lower but respectable performance then RealMe 1 but it obviously is twice as fast as RealMe 2.

If you want really good performance with one of the best cameras in the budget segment then go for RealMe 1. It can compete with Redmi A2 in terms of performance and row power. You wont miss fingerprint sensor as much as you think. Face unlock works great even in artificial lighting and low light conditions as well and low light performance of RealMe 1 beats even Redmi Note 5 Pro.

My personal choice would be RealMe 1 as I can live without fingerprint scanner and a camera that is comparable to Redmi Note 5 Pro is not a bad camera in anyway.

Bonus

If you want to increase your budget to 20,000/-

If I were to answer this a week ago my answer would be to buy Redmi A2 blindly. It has everything (3.5mm not included thanks to Apple) great camera, premium design, smooth performance and beautiful display without notch (may be not everything). Here comes the BUT POCO F1 has been launched so you know the answer.

P.S. POCO F1 will be reviewed ASAP as I get my hands on it.

That will be it for now. See you Later.

Xolo play 8x 1020 versus Xiaomi Redmi 2

Hello Guys,
Today i'm gonna to compare two devices Xolo Play 8x 1020 and Xaiomi Redmi 2. I will get to the comparision directly.

Price

First of all is price :-P
Xolo Play 8x 1020 has market price around Rs.7,925 when i'm writting this, whereas
Xiaomi priced its Redmi 2 at Rs.6,999.
In conclusion Redmi 2 has edge over xolo in price segment.

Benchmarking

Benchmarking(Redmi 2)
Quadrant Benchmark :- 11932 points
AnTuTu Benchmark 4 :- 21155 points
NenaMark 2 :- 54 fps
*Benchmarking of Xolo Play 8x 1020 is not available, :-(
Due to non availability of benchmark of xolo i'll give it a tie between both.

Camera

      Xolo play 8x 1020                          Redmi 2

Front                                     5MP with LED Flash                                     2MP(no Flash)
Primary(i.e. Rear)                8MP With Dual LED Flash                          8MP(Has single LED Flash)
                                             & Sony Examor senor.
Here xolo has edge over redmi 2.

Connectivity

Dual sim on both devices but Xolo has only 3G connectivity whereas Redmi 2 has 4G  connectivity both devices has WiFi, Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and OTG support.
In this segment redmi 2 again has edge over xolo.

Performance

Processor :-   Redmi 2 has 64bit Snapdragon 401 Quadcore processor clocked at 1.2 GHz whereas
8x 1020 has 1.4 GHz Mediatek Octacore processor.

Xolo Play 8x 1020 has 5.0" HD IPS Display with 1280*720 resolution and pixle density of 293 PPI(67.6% screen-to-body ratio)

Redmi 2 contains famous MIUI Designed by Xiaomi with latest version, v6.0.
Both the devices have its oven UI with diffrent experiance.

SAR Value

SAR(Specific Absorption Rate) value represents the radiation caused by the Handset.
"The Lower, The Better"
Xolo Play 8x 1020 :- 0.73 W/kg (head)
                                  0.71 W/kg (body)
Xiaomi Redmi 2 :-    N/A
SAR value of redmi 2 is not available yet but xolo provides very good sar values compare to redmi 1s(it was around 1.5 i.e. double).

Body & Design

Xolo play 8x 1020 has candybar design looking beautiful,
Redmi 2 also has candybar design but has mate finishing in the back instead of glossy finishing as its predecessor redmi 1s had.
Both the devices provide good design.

Conclusion

In conclusion Redmi 2 has better value for money, but if you want a better camera and have more money to spent then you can surely go for xolo.
Redmi 2 also has a cons :- you have to wait a while to get it and xolo has more probability to get OS update then xiaomi does.
OK guys thats all about this review, please please do comment how do you find it and please tell any suggestions you have.
THANKS A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
